Code of Conduct

This code of conduct applies to everyone who takes part in CIIIC activities: staff, volunteers, partners, professionals, guests and participants. It covers all live and hybrid activities, including informal moments such as drinks and dinners, on location, in event apps, chat channels and online sessions.

Expected behaviour

What we expect from participants:

• Treat everyone equally, without discrimination based on background, skin colour, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, nationality or social standing
• Communicate respectfully, especially during Q&A sessions and feedback rounds
• Ask permission before asking personal questions, making physical contact or recording
• Give constructive feedback focused on content, not on personal characteristics
• Report unsafe situations to the organisers

Unacceptable behaviour

The following are not tolerated:

• Discrimination and hateful expressions
• Sexual harassment or unwanted attention (verbal, non-verbal, physical)
• Intimidation, bullying, abuse of power or silencing others
• Aggression, threats or violence
• Damaging property or disrupting the programme
• Weapons or dangerous objects
• Excessive alcohol use or use of illegal drugs
• Taking photographs without permission
• Unwanted contact through apps or channels

Photo and media policy

CIIIC may photograph and film events for use on the website and social media. Participants can ask to be excluded. Personal photography is allowed, but respect individual boundaries and privacy.

Reporting

You can report an issue via:

• Email: codeofconduct@ciiic.nl
• On site: approach a CIIIC team member
• An external confidential adviser is available

Our commitments:

• We take reports seriously and treat them confidentially
• We ask what support you need
• We can refer you to external help if you wish
• We step in immediately when safety requires it

Consequences

Breaches of this code may lead to the following measures:

• A conversation or warning
• Adjusted access
• Temporary or permanent exclusion from the platform or event
• Account suspension
• Referral to legal authorities in serious cases
